My story

My first job out of University was as a marketing assistant for a national clothing retailer (anyone remember Dalmys?). It was there I wrote my first advertising copy. It was exhilarating — seeing my words in print for the first time.

The next eight years were spent marketing and communicating some of Canada's most respected brands including The Body Shop, Home Depot, and Manulife Financial. This is where I learned how to build a unique brand story. By combining marketing strategy with compelling storytelling, I could successfully help organizations distinguish themselves in the marketplace.

In 1996, I decided to go out on my own so I could use my talents to write "stories that stick" — ones that really resonate with the people they're written for. My stories now appear in media across Canada including Canadian Living and Homemaker's magazines, The Globe & Mail, websites such as Homebasics.ca and Urbanmoms.com. And I published my first book, Flex Appeal, a successful non-fiction book about work/family balance in 2002.

I also help entrepreneurs, corporations and not-for-profit organizations achieve their marketing objectives with compelling stories told through brochures, websites, direct mail campaigns, newspaper advertisements and
employee communications.

I love my work — it's exciting, strategic and creative. I get to collaborate with my husband and business partner, Vince Brewerton of Imagico, and I am fortunate to work with clients who value the power of a great story.
